This is pages of a memorial album for my stepsons who lost their father to suicide
A letter to my son (14 Photos)
Look at this book son. It is not a perfect book nor was I a perfect mother. Some of the pages have oddities that could have been fixed easily if only I had taken more time, just like those booboos I brushed off without kissing. Some of the placement is crooked, just like when I told you those little white lies (ie...the park was closed). My color schemes aren’t exactly balanced just like when I was juggling work, raising you and going to school. Some of the colors I used are bold enough to be considered loud, just like all the times I yelled at you. Some of the pages are smudged just like your tear streaked cheeks when I just didn’t understand you. Some of the pages are not journalled, just like the times I didn’t read you a bedtime story. Some of them don’t even tell the basic “W’s of the picture, just like the times I failed to explain things to you. You’ll realize the journaling I did do is all from my point of view, just like the times I didn’t listen to your side of the story. Look closely and you’ll see the mistakes I didn’t erase well enough just like the times I tried to make up to you by buying a toy instead of apologizing. After awhile the pages will become frayed around the edges, just like my nerves when I couldn’t find my patience. After awhile the pages will be familiar to you, just like the many times I told you to settle down. After awhile you’ll wish there were more pages to this album, just like when you’re grown and I’m wishing for just one more day of your childhood.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day 2008! (1 Photos)
This is a 100 % digital LO and the pictures are screen shots from the last time QVC had a “scrapbook products” themed day. The woman in the photo is Lisa Bearnson. She is the founding editor of “Creating Keepsakes”. The man in the photos is David Venable, the QVC host that assisted Bearnson with presenting samples. The incident occurred February 2008.
Too bad I cannot post the video in my album because you would then be able to see that the QVC host was upset about the incident, even though he tried not to show it on-air.
For the record, I have never been, nor will I ever be a subscriber to "Creating Keepsakes". I am a loyal Memory Makers Magazine reader. :)

Altered Book 1-Ms.Kitty (12 Photos)
These are a dozen pages from the Ms. Kitty project. It is a special altered book I made for my youngest daughter. Her cat, whom she has had since she was 12, is 21 years old and failing. The book is a story I wrote as a memoir of Ms.Kitty's past lives as a human before becoming a cat (a very adventurous life, I might add). The essence is that if a cat lives to a very old age through the love and care of a human, she will become a goddess when she dies. The book is 73 pages and was begun during my recovery from back surgery during the fall of 2004.

Caylee's "Fly Like a Butterfly" Layout (2 Photos)
My 13 year old DGD just went through cancer treatment and is in remission. When she visisted, she wanted to do a layout to hang on a wall but she didn't want to do one that included photos. Instead, she wanted to use the theme of flying like a butterfly and being cancer free in the layout. This is her work with my guidance only. The date is the day she found out she was in remission.

Joli's Techniques Circle Journal (12 Photos)
We're currently working on the 4th round in this circle journal. Each round has a theme, a technique, and a product we have to use. If I can remember, 1st round was packing tape, ribbon, and "The Girl in the Mirror." The 2nd round "The Animals in My Life" and we had to put 5 X 7 photos onto 6 X 6 layouts plus use hinges. The 3rd round was "The Many Hats of Life" and we had to use stitching and pop can tabs.
