Official Rules
- Entrant guarantees that no part of entry has been published in print or posted on any public Web site. This includes, but is not limited to, chat rooms, message boards, blogs and online galleries. All pages must be original designs. Entrant guarantees that submittal is not duplicated from any other scrapbook publication or copyrighted work.
- Each layout in entry must include a photo/photos (no stock photography), journaling and a title. A Photo/Model Release must be completed for each layout. Release is available online by clicking here.
- Entries will not be returned.
- An information sheet must be attached to the back of EACH layout in entry containing the following: name, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, e-mail address; the complete list of all supplies used on the page (including adhesives); and a brief explanation of any special techniques featured on the layout. Name, address, city, state and e-mail address on all entries will be concealed throughout the judging process.
- No electronic (e-mail) submissions will be accepted. Digitally created layouts are eligible, but must be printed following the same size guidelines listed in numbers 1 and 2 of How To Enter, and must be accompanied by a CD containing digital page files.
- Full- or part-time current payrolled employees of F+W Publications and previous Masters are not eligible to enter or win.
- Design-team members, including those members belonging to sponsoring companies? design teams, are eligible.
- Entries must be postmarked no later than July 31, 2008. No phone calls or e-mails will be answered regarding the competition.
- Winners will be chosen by August 15, 2008, and will be notified no later than August 22, 2008. Names of Masters and 10 Runners-up will be posted on the Memory Makers Web site on or before August 22, 2008.
Terms
- Each 2009 Memory Makers Master?s (hereafter MMM) term begins August 15, 2008, and ends August 1, 2009, pursuant to a Letter of Agreement each Master must sign.
- Each MMM will be required to take part in, and will be paid for participation in, the Techniques column for 2009 issues. Each submission must be submitted electronically per magazine guidelines.
- Each MMM will receive $50 per published single-page layout, and $75 per published two-page layout. Payment for other published projects will be determined on a per-project basis. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.
- Each payment for layouts will be made upon publication. Memory Makers retains the irrevocable right to publish, reproduce, modify and publicly display and distribute said pages in any way, and in all media without limitations or additional compensation, and to sublicense such rights.
- Each MMM receives a one-time postage allowance of $100.
- No MMM is required to use product from sponsors.
- Each MMM must create a minimum of 12 pages to submit for consideration throughout her/his term.
- Each MMM must participate on the 2009 MMM blog.
As a Master you?ll receive:
- A full line of Memory Makers 2009 products, including a magazine subscription and books.
- Exclusive opportunities to create art and to be published in Memory Makers magazines, books and ancillary products.
- Payment for published layouts.
- Special recognition each time your pages are published in Memory Makers magazine.
- Your name on the magazine masthead during your term.
